The Worn Edge Is the Invitation

The Worn Edge Is the Invitation

I found this one tonight and it rearranged my week a little. I have been sourcing materials for a nature-themed event space, and I kept setting aside the weathered boards and the brass that has gone soft because they looked secondhand. This video makes the case that the worn thing is the honest thing, that age and use and even a little damage are what make an object worth keeping. I have treated my own life the same way, always eyeing the next new city or the next new practice as if the current one expires. Maybe the practice I have been calling stale is just the one that has been used.
