I found a clip of the artist Alex Grey talking about creativity as a spiritual practice, and it landed right where I have been standing since I signed the studio lease. He describes art and music as a way to draw nearer to the divine, and the artist archetype as something you can activate and magnify inside yourself. Painting is how I translate the stars into something I can touch, so hearing it named as a form of prayer felt like a small confirmation.
